Pupils working at stages 1-6 will work towards answering blanks level questions at level 1-4:

Guided Reading: 

Pupils who have completed the Read, Write Inc programme, then move into group guided reading sessions using the Steps to Read programme.

Reading spines:

At Hayfield, we have created a reading spine for each stage of the school curriculum (Explorers 1 - Adventurers).

The full reading spine is attached below and is regularly updated to match to our whole school curriculum and wider reading. 

Reading Challenge:

Every year the children can take part in the Hayfield reading challenge; ticking off books from each genre as they read them independently, with an adult or listen to an adult reading it. Once they have ticked off the whole reading rail they will receive a certificate and prize in assembly.
